A Word From The Coordinator
Change
Our world is ever-changing. This fact can leave us feeling uncertain and uncomfortable more often than we would prefer. Especially in an election year, we can feel the changes taking place. COVID-19 has changed and is still changing the way we live our lives.
Not all change has to be uncomfortable, though. Think about the season of fall, with its sounds of dry leaves blowing in the trees and campfires crackling in the night; without the changes of the seasons, we might not appreciate the beauty of it as much. Our families change as our children grow older, move out of the home, and start having children of their own. We could resent the changes taking place and yearn for days gone by, OR we can bank those memories and enjoy and appreciate the newness of what each day brings. Change itself does not define us, but how we react to it.
As we go through the next few months surrounding the elections, we will definitely feel this to be true. We live in uncertain days. But, that uncertainty should not get our spirits down. We are not to hang our heads in defeat for our God shields us and is the lifter of our heads (Psalms 3:3). When the ballots are all in, and whoever comes out victorious-that will not be the real victory. Our God will have the FINAL and PERFECT victory, and He will still be the ruler of our lives (Psalms 22:28).
