A Word From The Coordinator

Anticipation

Many people are looking forward to 2021 with eager anticipation. The past year has brought many levels of difficulties and trials. As 2021 dawns, we now renew our spirits and our smiles as we move forward with a fresh hope and expectancy a new year brings.

Personally, while there were trials for our own family this past year, we also had some good happenings that were made for remembering fondly. Our third child has graduated high school. Our second child entered her final year of college. My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary with a trip to the Gulf Coast. All these and more are events I am not too quick to forget.

For REACH, plans will continue to be made and adaptations made as needed. Our members are so appreciated for your participating in events, your initiating and overseeing events, and your understanding if plans need modified. In other words, you guys ROCK!

Hebrews 12:1 states, “Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.” With the end of 2020 many wish to lay down the weight of burden the year has brought. Whatever the trial, let us be found running with patience what is set before us and with much anticipation looking forward to what lies ahead.

Board News

Happy New Year!
REACH has some exciting events coming up soon. The Pope County Spelling Bee hosted by REACH is scheduled for January 11th . REACH is also looking forward to hearing from Josh Mesker from the Home School Office of AR Dept of Education on January 28th . In February, coordinator nominations will begin for the 2021-2022 school year; we look forward to hearing from you. May God’s blessing be upon you this year and especially in your homeschooling.

The next tentative board meeting is January 11.

COVID Update
REACH will continue to follow the usual Illness Policy with added consideration for COVID precautions such as wearing masks and social distancing. We will follow the mandates issued by the state and local authorities. Since the mandates and recommendations are changing as new information comes out, pay special attention to details for any in person REACH activities. Keep in mind that some activity hosts or venues may have additional requirements that participants will be asked to follow.

Coordinator Nominations 2021-2022

It's time to start thinking about who you will nominate for the position of coordinator for the 2021-2022 year. Persons nominated must be REACH members in good standing for at least 3 years. Nominations will be open from February 1 through February 15. A nomination link will be provided in the February newsletter. Other information related to the nomination/voting process: … Read more

Hosting the 2021 Pope County Spelling Bee

Dear members:

REACH will be hosting the 2021 Pope County Spelling Bee on January 11. We are praying that we are able to move forward with this plan, but we have some back up options if there are shifts in regulations.

We are asking that as a member of REACH you would consider helping out with this event. We will need a few people to help out the day of the event, but due to social distancing and minimizing the amount of people in the building there will be limited jobs available.

Most importantly we would like you to consider making a donation to REACH to help cover expenses. While the venue is allowing us to use the facility free of charge because it is a community event, there are other expenses that will be needed to be covered that will possibly exceed the REACH budget for such events. If you know a business owner who would be willing to donate they will receive a Tax donation letter from REACH. Donation letters will also be available for any individuals who donate and request a letter. Donations can be made through PayPal or by sending a check to the REACH P.O. Box.

You can contact Sarah Hann at srhhann@yahoo.com or Chelsey Carnahan at chelsey@rsvlreach.org if you have any questions about the event.

Once you decide on a field trip you’d like to organize just fill out this field trip form for approval of date/time and then we’ll get the information out to all of REACH.
