News from Our Membership Director
What a strange season this is for us all! So many thoughts and emotions to process ranging from anxiety about what the future holds, to worry over the health of our families and loved ones, or maybe annoyance with the inconveniences to our routines. Hopefully we are all also experiencing a certain peace as we spend more time relishing the simple things with our families, and being reminded of how blessed we are to have loved ones to worry over and shelter with during an uncertain time. As homeschoolers and followers of Christ we are more equipped than most to navigate this. Like Esther, maybe we have been called "for such a time as this." (Raise your hand if you heard that in the voice of Veggie Tales' Pa Grape!) I hope you are all finding ways to encourage others and be encouraged through this very unusual time.

This is certainly an unprecedented time in our organization as well as our families. With all the mandated restrictions on group activities due to COVID-19, many events on the REACH calendar for March through May have been cancelled or postponed. Committee heads, committee members, and board members are working behind the scenes to assure that as many things as possible are rescheduled. To allow for the rescheduling of these activities, the membership year will be extended past May 31st and will overlap the new year, so that even those who do not rejoin will continue to be included in REACH communications about rescheduled events into the summer. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, REACH is offering a $20 discount for rejoining members who were members during the 2019-2020 year. If your family has been financially impacted by COVID-19 and you were a REACH member in the 2019-2020 membership year, you may deduct $20 from your fall dues. You do not need to submit a request, just put "COVID" in the notes of your payment method so your dues can be adjusted by the treasurer. Watch for the new Membership Application link coming soon. We are working on details of how to dovetail the current year and the new year as seamlessly as possible. Thank you all for your patience!

Moms' High School Class: Navigating the Maze

This class will meet for three different evenings in June and/or July. Topics to be covered include: recordkeeping, credits, transcripts, smart core, ACT/SAT, college admissions, scholarships, CLEP, AP, concurrent classes, and more. Testing & Honor Roll
|
REACH has an honor roll for 9th – 12th grade students. It is based on a student’s achievement on a standardized test. The school year for honor roll purposes is from the beginning of July to the end of June with the honor roll being published in the August newsletter for the previous school year. Deadline to send scores is July 10th.

High School Biology Lab 2020-2021
|
|
Students will investigate biological systems at the molecular, cellular, and macrobiological level. Hands on laboratory exercises incorporating cellular biology, genetics, DNA, and specimen dissections will be provided to assist students in their understanding of biological themes.
