Coordinator News

Busy, busy, busy!
September is a great month for many reasons. First, the weather begins to break a bit. Second, sports and activities start for the year. Third, all the fun festivals, fairs, and
family activities come to our communities. Also, it’s my birthday month!

Unfortunately, FOMO (fear of missing out) is a real thing in our society today, and I think it may hit us homeschool moms right between the eyes. I believe that many of us feel the need to prove that we are doing enough, and we may overfill our schedule in our efforts. Sports, bands, choirs, plays, 4-H, classes, clubs, intensives, and our daily school work can add up to exhausted families. So, my advice for us all (and I am
including myself here) is to pause for a moment before signing up for everything and
really evaluate whether you have the time, money, and energy to take on the activity. Of course, I love all the things that we offer through REACH, but we can’t possibly
participate in all of them.

Be sure to read the rest of this newsletter to see all the great offerings that we have –
clubs, field trips, intensives, PSP (parks, skating, parties) – and see which ones you are able and willing to join us on. We would love to have you!

Board News

The next board meeting is September 16.

The board has approved a new process for the approval of dresses for the Junior/Senior banquet, which is scheduled for April 24, 2020. There are multiple opportunities for girls to come together to model and show off what they have and/or get approval while they are shopping. Please click HERE (or read the banquet section in this newsletter) to find out more about the fun times we have planned, so that banquet can remain a safe, fun, modest event.

Meet the Board

Kathy Chauffe-Membership Director
My husband, Andy, and I have 3 children. AJ is 16, Abby is 13, and Eli is turning 9 this month. Andy and I celebrated our 30th anniversary this summer! After living in Florida and Louisiana, we are happy to call Arkansas home. I was a public school special education teacher until our son, AJ, was born. We have been homeschooling for over 12 years now. I have been privileged to serve as the REACH Membership Director for 4 years. I love meeting the new families coming into our group as well as staying connected with the rest of our membership. We have a wonderful group and I am truly blessed to be part of it!

Meetings

For September we are encouraging everyone to attend the PSP Back-to-School Picnic on September 6. Please look at the PSP section for more details.
